The Laurent Fluid Dynamics Lab looks for highly motivated students who wish to expand their understanding of fluid mechanics and interdisciplinary research. There are open opportunities for PhD and master students. Highly motivated undergraduate students are encouraged to reach out as well. Postdocs

Currently, there is no specific funding for postdocs. If you are interested in getting involved with the lab, reach out to klaurent@syr.edu to discuss potential fellowship or grant opportunities

Graduate Students

There are open opportunities in the lab to work on soaring flight dynamics, flapping flight/swimming, and improving experimental methods. For more details on specific on-going projects, click on the specific topics on our Research page. PhD and masters students who are interested in joining the lab are encouraged to fill out an inquiry form here, as well as reach out to me directly at klaurent@syr.edu. Note that at Syracuse University, you can apply directly to the MAE graduate program as well.

Undergraduate Students

Highly motivated students who are interested in working on research projects are encouraged to reach out to me at klaurent@syr.edu. Generally, these positions do not come with funding, but there are many opportunities to receive funding through SOURCE or REUs. Previous research experience is not required.
